Ramna is one of the most famous park and, certainly, oldest public park in Dhaka where thousands of people from different classes gather each day at park to spend their time. Ramna is teeming with history as the establishment of Ramna dates back to the days of the Mughul rule under Empire Jahangir, around 1610. In 1960, Queen Elizabeth II was accorded a rousing civic reception at Ramna with display of local fireworks. Every year, Bengali nation are celebrating their Pohela Boishakh.
Ramna is a hotspot for the young generation as they hangout by wearing colorful trendy dress and show their expression with friends. There are concerned with what their peers are wearing and try keep up with their own trends to earn a place within their close circle of friends and acquaintances. It is as if they are trying to highlight their belongingness to the group and build some elusive connection to peers. It’s a hub of local fashion trends.
